Pennies for Pets

This year we have joined with the Almost Home Foundation to help rescued or abandoned pets that are living in foster homes. We are taking time to help or "pausing" to help pets. We say: "PAWS to Help Pets!"
Each month we plan to collect items to donate to the Almost Home Foundation. Our September collection was "Pennies for Pets". It was a huge success. Spring Trail students and families collected $394.07!! We invited Mrs. Rose, of the Almost Home Fondation, to school so we could present the check to her. When she came to visit she brought her friend, a thereapy cat, Freddy. We enjoyed seeing and petting Freddy. She also talked to us about the responsibility of owning a pet, pet needs, and ways to greet a dog that we do not know.
We are proud to be able to help pets that need a home.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Snack

We read about the coconut tree and the letters. We sang about the tree and the letters. We followed a recipe and made a snack about the tree and the letters. We ate the tree and the letters. Yum! Yum! We love the book Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom!

The Tooth Fairy

My name is Brenna. I am a first grader in Mrs. Borczak's class. My class read some books about the tooth fairy. This reminded me about my loose tooth. That's how I got the idea to write a book about a boy who lost a tooth.

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patrick's Day we looked and looked for a leprechaun, but we didn't see or catch one. Here's a song that we learned. We're still learning how to make a movie to share. What do you think is the last word of the song?
